JULIA GEORGE

When Mdsign was first launched in July 2002, Essential Beauty in Newmarket said that they would have a website. Our first client website was launched and remained in place until January 2007 when it was replaced by the current Julia George website.
During that period, the hairdressing salon next door to Essential Beauty (EB) had changed hands and Julia George had moved to Newmarket. A couple of years later, the two merged and Julia George is now a hair and beauty salon. Liz, who was the previous owner of EB is still at Julia George and manages the beauty salons. Mdsign has been involved with both EB and Julia George throughout this time.
Towards the end of 2006, Julia and George decided that it was time for the website to have a revamp and we set about deciding what the new website needed to portray their image. Both Julia and George both admitted that 'computers' was not their thing and so left me to put it together for them. They provided some text but generally Mdsign sourced the images and put together the text for the client. This cannot always be the case but having had such a longstanding and good relationship with this client, I was able to give them a truly hassle free experience in redesigning their website.

The design process on this website followed a fairly usual format, we had a good long meeting to informally chat about anything and everything we thought was relevant. I then produced a mock up of a design for their approval and once that was obtained, we then put all the pages together for them. Julia and George then had time to approve or make changes and then the website was published [view website]
This new redesign has been very successful as they have received new clients from the website and particularly good feedback from existing customers and associates. If you put in keywords of 'hair salon newmarket' or 'beauty salon newmarket' into Google, we come up second - beaten by Yellow Pages (not a very relevant link) and are more likely to be visited due to the description given [searched 20.06.07].
::: the future
The future with Julia George. Our first client and still with us and we hope the future is long with them. Their new website has been written to be compatible with our content management system as Julia George want to be able to update the website themselves eventually, once they are ready. We currently manage their updates for them by updating their special offers every couple of months or so. They intend adding an extra page to the website in the not too distant future and the website has been designed so that it is flexible and can have more information added as necessary.

We are extremely pleased with our website that Maria has designed for us, we wouldn't have had a clue where to start!! Maria has moved us forward into The Computer World!
Our website has helped people to know about us from all over. We have even had people contact us from Australia to buy vouchers for a friend in Newmarket, and as for those men - they can now buy their wife's presents without even moving from their desks!! Ha, Ha!
